BBBSEC has maintained a wonderful relationship with the Tim Horton Children's Foundation for over 10 years. In January, the foundation generously hosted thirty -five of our Little Brothers and Little Sisters for a "Tech Free" camp weekend at Onondaga Farms in St. George, Ontario. The group spent the weekend playing games and participated in a variety of activities both educational and recreational.
Our Little Brothers and Little Sisters enjoyed kick sledding, broomball, made crafts, and even went on an evening hike led by camp counselors. While at camp, our group also had the opportunity to visit the barn and learn about the animals on the farm, including a few cute and cuddly newborn bunnies. For some of our Littles, this was their first time visiting a farm and seeing the animals in person!
During the summer months, the foundation sent another group of our Little Brothers and Sisters to Camp Kentahten in Kentucky. All of the Littles took their first trip on an airplane and found themselves with ten days of fun and learning ahead of them. The children enjoyed activities including a ropes course, tent camping, hiking, and swimming. In addition to the many memories, many even left camp with a new pen pal from another area of the country or Canada!
