Robert Moss David Hore
President & CEO

David was officially named Chief Executive Officer in September 2010. He has been a devoted supporter of the BBBS program for over 18 years; first as a Big Brother to his Little Brother Dave and thereafter as an active Board Member and fundraiser. Additionally, David currently serves as President of the Board, the President's Council and is the Chairman of the agency's annual gala. He recently became a Big Brother once again to Little Brother Michael. David lives in Orchard Park with his wife Shari and their 4 children.

Thomas Guagliardo
Chief Operating Officer/Director of Development

Tom was named Chief Operating Officer in August of 2011 and continues to lead our Program Development Department. Tom has been with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie County since August of 2009. Along with a BA from Buffalo State College, he brings with him several years of fundraising experience with local organizations. Tom is a Certified Fundraising Executive and is affiliated with the Association of Fundraising Professionals. Tom has lived in the Buffalo area for many years and he looks forward to making a Big difference for the children of Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Camille Sinatra
Bookkeeper

Camille began her career with BBBS in February of 1989. Be-A-Friend has been her life away from home for more than 20 years- what more can we say? She is originally from the Buffalo area and is the proud the mother of three grown children.

Reneé Gracie
Director of Human Resources

Renee began working at BBBS in July of 1994. She received her BA in Social Work from Buffalo State College. In her current position, she is responsible for the recruitment and enrollment of professional staff as well as the administration of benefits.  Renée has held several other positions within the agency including Senior Volunteer Enrollment, Senior Case Management, and Project Coordination.  Her career with BBBS has focused on youth and staff development, along with interviewing staff and volunteer mentoring candidates.  In addition, she has experience working with developmentally challenged youth and adults. Renée is originally from the Buffalo area and is the mother of two children.

Craig Thornton
Program Assistant

Craig joined our staff in July of 2009. Craig has completed his associates degree in Business Administration and more recently graduated with his bachelors degree in Clinical Psychology from the University at Buffalo in February 2010. Craig assists all agency departments, including much or our Graphic Design work. When he is not working or taking classes, Craig enjoys playing both guitar and piano and he is in a local band.

Amy Carter
Administrative Assistant

Amy joined our staff as an Administrative Assistant in July of 2010 and is the friendly voice you hear over the phone. In addition to her reception duties, Amy is responsible for completing all of the background checks for candidates interested in volunteer with youth as a Big Brother or Big Sister. She also processes Volunteer-Child Match files and assists each department with many other important tasks. Amy received her Bachelors degree in Political Science from the University at Buffalo in May of 2010. She has experience in several office settings and has also worked with youth in a day care setting and as an Americorps member.

Maureen Kelly
Development Coordinator

Maureen has been a part of the BBBS Development team since June 2006. Prior to joining BBBS, Maureen spent six years as an event planner in the New York City area. She has a BS degree in Business Administration from Ramapo College of New Jersey.

Megan Clark
Development Intern

Megan began her two-semester internship with our Development team in August of 2011. She is assisting with procuring auction items for upcoming special events along with administrative duties. Megan plans to graduate in May of 2012 with Bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Social Sciences Interdisciplinary from the University at Buffalo and she is sincerely motivated to learn about the agency from a different aspect than Client Services with her experiences at Be-A-Friend. When she is not busy with classes, Megan also interns with University at Buffalo's Research Institute on Addictions and works for Firstsource Advantage. In the past, Megan has coached a youth cheerleading team and volunteered with Summit Educational Resources and Cystic Fibrosis. Megan comes from a large family and grew up in Western New York.

Alicia Bartsch
Director of Community Relations

Alicia began her career at BBBS in 1995 as a Volunteer Enrollment Coordinator and is currently the Director of Community Relations. She is an executive committee member of Volunteer Administrators of WNY (VAWNY) and a member of the Speakers Bureau of the United Way of Buffalo & Erie County. Additionally, she is a member of the 2009 class of Business First's 40 Under Forty. Alicia holds a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from The College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY.

Lisa Campagna
Senior Volunteer Enrollment Coordinator

Lisa started working at BBBS in September 2007. She graduated from Canisius College with a B.A. in English. She also holds a certificate in Women's Studies and a minor in Sociology. Lisa really enjoys working with high school and college students, meeting young people who truly want to make a difference in children's lives. In 2010, after three years with the agency, Lisa was promoted to Senior Volunteer Enrollment Coordinator overseeing the volunteer enrollment process.

Nicole Labby
Volunteer Recruitment Specialist

Nicole came on board our Community Relations team as a Volunteer Recruitment Specialist in June of 2010. She is responsible for recruiting individuals from the community to provide positive mentoring to at-risk youth and coordinates the agency's volunteer inquiries. Nicole has a Bachelors degree in Business Administration with a minor in Marketing from Loyola University. She has experience with youth in the Buffalo Community, has worked in Customer Service positions and has volunteered and interned with local non-profit organizations. Nicole is very excited to be playing a positive role linking volunteer candidates with youth in the Buffalo area.

Mai-Leen Colón
Recruitment Specialist

Mai-Leen joined our staff in May of 2009 as a Case Manager working directly with our 1-1 mentoring relationships and group clients. She brings with her a BA Sociology and Anthropology and also attended SUNY Albany for her Masters degree in Latin American, Caribbean and U.S. Latino Studies. Mai-Leen now works in the agency's Community Relations Department recruiting potential volunteer mentors and mentees. Her work also involves educating the community about the presence and benefits of the mentoring services provided by the agency. She is from the Buffalo area, loves to travel, be active and help build the community.

Whitney Hyman
Volunteer Enrollment Coordinator

Whitney joined the agency in November 2009 as a Community Based Case Manager. She graduated from SUNY Fredonia in 2009 with a Bachelors degree in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. Along with her degree, Whitney brought with her a variety of experiences working with at-risk youth and families. After about a year in the Client Services Department, Whitney took the position of Volunteer Enrollment Coordinator, interviewing potential volunteer mentors as they inquire about becoming Big Brothers and Big Sisters.

Emily Lantzy
Director of Programs

Emily joined our staff in January 2009 and brings with her a BA in Sociology and Political Science from SUNY New Paltz College. After spending more than a year with us as a Case Manager, she was promoted to the Director of Client Services position. She has worked with youth and families as a Case Manager with Be-A-Friend, through AIDS Community Services of WNY and the Town of Hamburg Recreation Department. Emily works with enthusiasm and eagerness to bring children and volunteers together through mentoring.

Tamara Tobias
Training Coordinator

Tamara joined BBBS in September of 2007. She started as a Case Manager and in the spring of 2011, Tamara took on the role of Training Coordinator. She is currently responsible for all Volunteer and Parent Trainings as well as Staff Professional Development. She holds an undergraduate degree in Psychology and completed her Masters degree in Social Work in August of 2011; both degrees are from the University at Buffalo. Tamara completed her internships working with children at Woodrow Wilson Elementary School in the Cheektowaga Sloan District and with young adults at UB Social Work Continuing.

LaGuan Rodgers
Mentor Advocate

LaGuan is working directly with agency youth as a Mentor Advocate and has experience with local youth through BBBS as a Group Mentor and with Teen Youth Groups as a mentor and leader as well as through Community Outreach Programs. Additionally he has been mentoring as a Big Brother since 2006 with Be-A-Friend. Along with a B.A. in Communications, he received an “All-College Honors” award and a “Dean’s Award for Excellence in Communication”, from Buffalo State College in 2008. LaGuan has many interests including sports, running and music and is committed to being a positive influence on youth.

Thomas Kirst
Senior Case Manager

As our most tenured Client Services staff member, Tom has been with BBBS since 2002. He started as a Case Manager working directly with clients, families and volunteer Bigs and later took on a managerial role. Tom graduated from SUNY Fredonia in 2001 with a BA in Sociology and completed the MSW Program at UB in 2010. He completed field placements at both EPIC and UB Social Work Continuing Education. Tom has also worked with developmentally disabled adults at both People, Inc. and Autistic Services. Since graduating from Fredonia, Tom has made Buffalo his home.

Sheila McCrea
Case Manager

Sheila began at BBBS in September 2007. She received her degree from SUNY Geneseo majoring in Psychology with a minor in Human Development. Sheila has volunteered as a bereavement counselor over the past 4 years and as a basketball coach for 5th and 6th grade students.

Danielle Miano
Case Manager

Danielle joined BBBS as a Case Manager in May 2010 after completing a 9 month internship with the Client Services Department. She has experience working with our Case Managers and Site Coordinators in both Community and Site Based youth programs. She is a Bachelor’s graduate of the Social Work program at Buffalo State College. As a former Big Sister with our agency, she understands the important role mentors have on the youth in our community. She has a passion for working with children and for making a difference in their lives. Danielle also loves traveling and learning about different cultures.

Sarah Thomas
Case Manager

Sarah joined our Client Services team in October of 2010. She is originally from the Buffalo area and is pursuing a career working with youth in the Buffalo area. Sarah's role as a Case Manager involves building "Big" and "Little" relationships by providing case management and support to our Community Based Mentoring relationships. Along with a B.A. in Psychology from Buffalo State College, Sarah also completed her Master's in School Counseling from Niagara University in 2010. She brings with her experience with youth ranging in age from birth to 18 years. Sarah loves to travel and one day hopes to visit at least 50 countries!

Jana Riesterer
Case Manager

Jana became a Case Manager with us in October of 2010. She relocated to the Buffalo area in the summer of 2010 after spending two years as an English teacher in Korea. With a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh, she also has experience as an intern with Wisconsin's Winnebago County Child Welfare Department. Additionally, Jana has worked with youth and families through many volunteer opportunities including a domestic violence center and the Family Mentoring Program in WI, Habitat for Humanity, Salvation Army, Special Olympics and an orphanage in Korea. Jana's role as a Case Manager involves building "Big" and "Little" relationships by providing case management and support to our Community Based Mentoring relationships.

Ashleigh Then
Case Manager

Ashleigh joined our Client Services team in December of 2010 as a Community Based Case Manager. She provides match support for a caseload of one-to-one  mentoring relationships between Bigs and Littles. She brings with her experience with youth as an Americorps Vista Associate working with refugee students at Jericho Road Ministries as well as various volunteer experience with children and adults in the Buffalo community. With a B.A. in Sociology, Ashleigh is motivated to help youth reach their full potential through positive mentoring.  Ashleigh was born and raised in Buffalo and is passionate about building up the Buffalo community.

Edward Jackson
Case Manager

Edward's involvement with BBBS began in 2007 when he spent two years as a full-time Case Manager with the agency. He returned to our Client Services team as a part-time Case Manager in October of 2011. He is also pursuing his Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Counseling at the University of Rochester. Edward has an undergraduate degree from Morehouse College and a Masters in Divinity from Northern Baptist Theological Seminary. Edward's experience with youth includes work with the Community Action Organization of Erie County as well as being a Youth Pastor and a Big Brother with our agency. Edward has served on our Board of Directors and is currently an active member of the BBBS Big Mirror Initiative whose purpose is to increase the ethnic diversity of our volunteer mentors. He is also an active member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Edward resides in Buffalo with his wife Kim.

Renée Zehler
Case Manager

Renée's role in our Client Services Department as Enrollment Case Manager involves the recruitment and enrollment of our youth. She is the first "face" many of our families see when they enroll a child into BBBS. She joined the team in February of 2011 and brings with her a B.A. in Psychology from Buffalo State College and an Associates degree in Liberal Arts and Science. Along with experience working with at-risk youth at Baker Victory Services, Renée has completed an internship in Walt Disney World, has several years of customer service experience and loves to travel and read.

Ashley Wright
Client Services Intern

Ashley began her two-semester internship with our Client Services Department in August of 2011. She will be working alongside our Case Managers and Site Coordinators as they develop and support our mentoring relationships and will also be planning for A Partnership for Youth activities. Ashley plans to graduate in May of 2012 with a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from Buffalo State College and then go on for her Masters degree in Social Work at the University at Buffalo. With experience in retail and the admissions office at Buffalo State College, Ashley is looking forward to gaining experience working more directly with youth within the agency. Ashley chose a career in Social Work because she loves helping others!

Maryam Ghazanfari
Director of Site Based Mentoring

Maryam first started with Be-A-Friend in April of 2009 as a Site Coordinator working directly with youth, mentors and families at the Belle Center on Buffalo's West Side. In October of 2010, she became our Director of Site Based Mentoring and is now responsible for recruiting and enrolling families, along with overseeing all of our day-to day Site Based Program Activities and staff. Along with her Masters of Education from SUNY Buffalo and a Bachelors degree in Spanish and International Studies from SUNY Fredonia, Maryam has had the opportunity to work with youth both in community and school settings. Maryam is proud to be from a multicultural family; she speaks fluent Spanish and loves to travel, be outdoors and try extreme sports.

Kelly has been with BBBS since December 2007. She attended the University of Buffalo and graduated in 2005 with a BA in Psychology. As an AmeriCorps Volunteer, she served at the Enterprise Charter School in Buffalo as a Teacher's Aide/Classroom Tutor.

Monique Perez
Site Coordinator

Monique came on board our Client Services team as a Site Coordinator at the Belle Center in January 2011. With a Master of Science in Community and Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, both from Canisius College, she also brings with her several years of experience in the Human Service field. Having worked and interned with youth at Compass House as well as spending many summers as a counselor at Cradle Beach Camp, Monique is excited to use her developed skills with BBBS. In addition to supporting Big and Little mentoring relationships at our West Side site, she is also responsible for planning and implementing their activities along with having an important role with enrolling children and volunteers. In her free time, Monique enjoys dance, theatre, baking and also knows American Sign Language.

Vannah Gourdet
Client Services/Site Based Intern

Vannah started her internship with our Client Services Department in August 2011 and will be with us through May of 2012 when she graduates from the University of Buffalo with a BA in Sociology and a minor in Philosophy. Along with volunteering with youth at her church, Vannah has experience in Customer Service through retail and office management. She will be mentored by our Site Coordinators and will work directly with our youth and volunteers at the Belle Center and Enterprise Charter School. In her free time, Vannah admits she is a kid at heart and loves roller-blading, playing golf and writing fiction.
