Becoming a Big Brother or Big Sister is designed to build a match based on shared interests, personality and your volunteer preferences.

Quick Steps to Become a Big

Here are the quick and easy steps we'll walk you through:

1. Inquire Online. Complete the online form today. A member of our Community Relations Staff will contact you soon.
2. Schedule a Volunteer Interview - When our Community Relations Staff contacts you, they will answer any questions you might have and discuss our volunteer opportunities. If you are ready to take the next step, we will schedule a volunteer interview for you and begin the enrollment process.
3. Matching. When we are ready to match you, we will review the kids in our program and find the best fit for you. Depending on your gender and the kind of child you'd like to work with, matching may go very quickly or take some time. Making the right match is important to our commitment to form lasting relationships. Once we make the match, a member of our professional staff will introduce you to your new friend and start your relationship on its way!

Spending Time with Your Little
Once matched, Big Brothers and Big Sisters develop friendships with their Little Brothers and Little Sisters. Whether playing a computer game or simply hanging out - you bring magic into the life of a child. It's that simple.

Site-based matches meet in local schools or community centers for an hour and a half each week. They do projects together, read books, play board games, make crafts and more.

Community-based matches are flexible and will fit your busy schedule. Bigs and Littles hang out in the community and go to museums, sports events, movies, and more. It's up to you and your Little!

We Support each match by providing a professional staff person from Big Brothers Big Sisters. Match support specialists regularly check in with volunteers, children, and parents, and are always available to answer questions.

Regular events are held in your community, giving you an opportunity to meet other Bigs and Littles in your area. Plus, through the generosity of our partners and individuals in our community, there are often free tickets to ball games, the theater, and more!

We told you it’s easy! Get started today!!
