Mentoring Case Management (Full-Time, Non-Exempt)

Are you looking for a job in human services that allows you the opportunity to work with a caseload of children, families and volunteers? Come defend the potential of the children and young people of Western New York by empowering them through mentoring.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie, Niagara and the Southern Tier currently has the following positions available in our Program Department:

  • Mentor Advocate
  • Case Manager

While these positions vary in their responsibilities, they both play an essential role in providing mentoring services to the children and young adults in the Western New York Community. The Mentor Advocate mentors a group of young adults through direct services, while the Case Manager creates and supports mentoring relationships between children and volunteer mentors. Both positions include case management; recruitment and enrollment of children and families; partnership building between service providers; and youth development planning.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required;
  • Experience working with children, families and/or volunteers;
  • Commitment to advancing the lives of children and young adults;
  • Valid Driver’s License and Personal Transportation.

Position is full-time Monday through Friday, with both daytime and evening hours. The position includes mileage reimbursement and great benefit package. Salary is commensurate with experience.  May 2019 graduates are encouraged to apply! Degrees in Criminal Justice, Sociology, Social Work, Education, Psychology and other Human Services fields will be given strong consideration.

Internship Opportunity

Part-time opportunity with our Development & Community Relations Departments.

This exciting internship opportunity is a one-semester (or summer) commitment for 5-10 hours per week, primarily during normal business hours (Monday through Friday, 9-5pm). Desired candidates will demonstrate an interest in community relations and/or fundraising activities. Individuals must possess strong writing and oral communication skills and a professional demeanor. The candidate/student will gain valuable experience related to fundraising, event planning, volunteer recruitment and community awareness by working alongside our Community Relations and Development staff.
