Be a Big Sister

Volunteering is fun!
Being a Big Sister is simple and rewarding. It is as easy as showing your new Little Sister how to play a favorite computer game, bake an apple pie or reading the funnies together. We’ve learned that being someone special to a child doesn’t take much more than that. But the impact is huge—for both of you!

Children need the friendship and guidance of someone like YOU.

Here’s what some local Big Sisters have to say:
“It is fun to have someone young in my life. Erma never ceases to amaze me. She always gives me a new perspective. We do everything from pizza nights to pumpkin carving and having dance parties in the middle of the day. It is fun and rewarding. It is great to be able to influence someone’s life”
– Erin Q., Big Sister

“We love to chat and catch up on our families, friends and school. We can do that anywhere-be it the mall, video arcade, movies, food shopping, the park, etc. If you can commit the time and want a new friend, there’s no question. It’s an incredible opportunity to make a difference and as an adult, I feel volunteerism in any capacity is a necessity. And you get to do fun activities like a kid again!” – Kimberly S., Big Sister
